Scott Brown, the storied former captain of Celtic, is a figure woven into the very fabric of the club’s recent history.

Scott Brown

Brown’s career is marked by an era of dominance in Scottish football, with ten Scottish Premiership titles, six Scottish Cups, and seven League Cups under his belt.

The former Celtic skipper has been linked with a return to Parkhead multiple times. When Rodgers returned many questioned if the then Fleetwood boss would head back up to Glasgow.

Then, when he lost his managerial job at Fleetwood, the Celtic return question resurfaced, but he ended up in the dugout in Ayr.

Brown is focused on proving his managerial mettle with aspirations of elevating the club to the Scottish Premiership. Amidst this challenge, questions about his potential future at Celtic Park naturally arise. Could he one day manage Celtic?

In an interview on the Scottish Football Podcast, Brown addressed these speculations with a mix of humility and ambition.

He said: Everyone says that. I think for me, I need to just worry about myself. At Celtic what I have done and how I’ve played that’s all in the past.

“You don’t become the manager because you just played at Celtic. You’ve not got the right to manage Celtic. You have to go and earn it.

“And you have to be qualified because you’ve taken good quality players that have a right good IQ about the game and understand that and you need to make sure you can make them better.

“And you have to also have that passion to the fans. Yeah, I have got that understanding about what they want and how the club works but you have to drive them.”
