Celtic legend Scott Brown has made a notable claim about the capacity of Celtic Park. Indeed, the quadruple-treble-winning skipper believes it could be improved drastically.

It has long been coined that the Hoops join the English Premier League and if they did, Brown thinks they could hugely increase the capacity of Parkhead. He said (No Tippy Tappy Football): “Celtic have 60,000 season ticket holders and another 28,000 on standby, they could double the size of their stadium if they were playing in the English leagues.”

Quite a sensational claim, it is likely inaccurate in the sense that Celtic couldn’t increase their stadium to a 120,000 seater, although it is certain they could likely improve the capacity to a notable extent if a move to the EPL did transpire.

Nothing of that ilk is in the pipeline at the minute, with Brown’s words simply showing the sheer size of Celtic as a club. The Hoops have fans across the world, and their reputation and number of supporters would only rise for the better if they played down South, this increasing the need for larger stadia.

  1. Yes only tv will change that and with Arab league getting noticed could join eufa then epl will need to get a team like Celtic in and teams like Fulham Brighton Bournemouth they are only there cause the money they earn from being in epl but there fan base is poor and with epl top teams owned by people or companies outside UK I don’t think they will bother as long as the money flows in
