Former Celtic winger Scott Sinclair has spoken about his memories at the club ahead of his return to Parkhead this weekend.
The 32-year old will be returning to Paradise for the first time since his exit in the winter transfer window of the 2019/20 season this weekend as Preston North End face Ange Postecoglou’s side in a pre-season fixture.
Speaking to the Lanarkshire Evening Post, the winger spoke out about the memories he created in his time with the club and how he is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces this weekend.
“Just off the top of my head, there are so many games and goals which are memorable.
“It would be too difficult to pick one moment and say that was the best.
“I’m talking about the European nights through to the Old Firm games; there are so many good memories of what we achieved as a team.
“I always knew how big the club was, and I knew Brendan very well.
“To be honest, I didn’t need much persuading to go up there, and it was to prove a great few years.
“On Saturday, it will be good to go back and see a few of the old faces.”
During his time in Scotland, Sinclair became a fans favourite very quickly with his performances on the pitch under Brendan Rodgers.
His goals, record and awards in his time here speak for themself, and he played in one of the club’s most successful sides, winning trophy after trophy.
It will be good to see him return to Celtic Park after a few years and hopefully will receive a big welcome back from the lucky 2000 inside the ground.
Scotty S was one of the key catalysts the season he arrived. Perhaps it was a wee bit downhill in season 2, and more so in season 3, but a real top pro and in that first year those goals in the league, in Europe and against Sevco were top drawer. Round of applause ???
