This comes after last night’s statement saying they were pressing ahead with the weekend’s ties before potentially playing games behind closed doors.
The football will stop as social distancing comes into place over the next few days and weeks to prevent the virus from spreading at the rate we’ve seen in Italy.
The Glasgow Derby was set for Sunday but will now likely be played when the season can get back underway.
These are unprecedented times and the clubs will be scrambling to figure out how to deal with the situation. Money will be lost and players staying fit for when the season does resume will be an issue.
Right now, the health of the players and supporters attending games has to be the main priority. We could not continue to bury our heads in the sand.
We’ll have more news on this in the coming days.
