CELTIC will wear their grey kit on Sunday for their trip to St Mirren at SMiSA Stadium today, as required by SPFL rules to avoid colour clashes.

The last time that the side wore the kit, the Hoops were defeated by Stephen Robinson‘s Saints in September, when goals from Jonah Ayunga and Mark OHara inflicted the champions only domestic defeat of the season.

One of Ange Postecoglou’s complaints was that the two side’s kits clashed, but that won’t be a problem after this morning’s announcement from St Mirren. The Paisley side revealed that they’ll be pulling on their black away kit, while the visitors will remain in their third top.

Ange Postecoglou admitted he wasn’t a big fan of the strip, and would prefer not to wear it, reasoning it can be hard to tell the teams apart. However, he acknowledged the decision was out of his hands, and the referee had the final say. He said: [The Scottish Sun]

“I think we are going to play in grey again. I don’t like it either but it is what it is, mate.

“It was harder to distinguish between players than it would be if there was a clearer distinction between the strips.

“But it is the referee’s decision and we abide by the referee’s decision.”

  1. Why aren’t we allowed to play in the Hoops ?
When did this change as we always wore them in eighties and nineties.
