If there was any better proof of the pot luck attitude of the SFA when it comes to disciplinary measures, look no further than the latest incredible decision by the SFA decision-makers.

At the weekend Ismaila Soro was kicked in a violent and reactive manner by Motherwell’s Devante Cole, at the time it looked a straight red but referee Nick Walks inexplicably only brandished a yellow card, even though his linesman was yards from the incident.

We expected the SFA disciplinary panel to hold Devante to account this week for his kick out, but Sunsport report the player will escape any further punishment.

The SFA can still take action even if a referee has already dealt with the incident on the pitch if footage shows the referee’s decision did not keep in line with the severity of the flashpoint.

Whataboutery is not something we want to indulge in but on this occasion, we’ll make an exception, if a Celtic player had swung their foot out and landed a kick to an opposition player, do we think the SFA would have sat back?

There seems to be a need to for high profile punishments but let other clubs fly under the radar. It’s why the system is not fit for purpose.

We’re still waiting on the outcome of Albian Ajeti’s hearing.

  1. If such an incident occurred in a Glasgow street, then the assailant would be in court the next morning. The SFA know how to ignore the rules when a CELTIC player is assaulted. They are an affront to Scottish society with their decisions.
I can honestly say I am ashamed to be a fan and part of Scottish Football. They bring ridicule on themselves with such bigoted decisions. The guy assaulted Soro. He should have had the book thrown at him for the assault. Instead we can now assume any such assault by any other player in Scotland will be handled the same way. The precedent has been set.
THE ASSYLUM IS NOW BEING RUN BY THE IDIOTS!

    • lots of things that happen on a football pitch would see you in court. tripping someone up, slide tackling someone, kicking a ball off someone. all could see you in court, so thats a stupids argument.

  2. Maybe because Soro never got kicked in the throat ….. Mmmmmm ….. Hand in yer whistle and cards referee. Who needs a VR system, when you have a human system with inherent problems that can’t see anything wrong. Unless it’s owner wears a Hooped top.

    • Sadly I doubt even VAR will sort this by out as it will depend on whom is B looking at the VAR and making the decision. Same people I would guess would give the same result. At what point does our club stand up to this crap and why not before now. Corrupt.
