Sheffield Wednesday Darren Moore spent last week telling fans Liam Shaw still had a part to play in their season even though he had signed a pre-contract deal with Celtic.

Given the club are up against it and were playing top of the table Norwich on Sunday, you would think Liam would start the game given his talents, or at least play a part.

Instead, the player was looked over and sat on the bench the whole game as Wednesday blew a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 to the soon to be Championship winners.

Shaw had no opportunity to influence the game and watched on as the game slipped away.

It stands to reason a manager might not want a player in the side who is off in the summer but Moore claimed it wouldn’t be the case. Sunday’s actions seem to speak louder than his midweek words with regards to the soon to be Celtic midfielder.

It would be great if Shaw could get some more game time between now and the end of the season but I suppose it’s not pivotal to the player or Celtic.

Wednesday are currently on course for relegation.
