OPTUS SPORT has fired some cheeky shots after the news broke about Celtic’s Glasgow rivals pulling out of the Sydney Super Cup.

Optus, an Australian based publication has been covering Celtic and Ange Postecoglou in depth since the beginning of the season and they didn’t miss with their tweet this evening.

They have put out an article about The Rangers pulling out and branded and told their readers a ‘supporting act’ for Ange’s homecoming tour had pulled out.

While the message is most definitely their to wind up The Rangers support, there’s a lot of truth to it.

We have been monitoring what the Ibrox club have been leaking to certain media outlets and they’re pushing the narrative they were not being treated well enough by the organisers to continue with the tournament.

They wanted to have a better billing and questioned Celtic being allowed to push the tournament before they had the chance to do so.

Media in Australia will be perplexed by the pettiness on show here but in Glasgow, some pundits are even applauding The Rangers move to pull out.

They have left their supporters in Australia high and dry, and there’s more than likely going to have some of their own fans out of pocket as a result.

We’re awaiting a response from the organisers.
