The Green Brigade is currently banned by the club due to a series of incidents that led to non-compliance with applicable regulations and unacceptable behaviours.

To address this situation, the key to lifting the ban is deemed to be mature and open conversations between the Green Brigade and the club.

Celtic made the decision to indefinitely withdraw ultras season tickets at Parkhead, citing concerns about the group’s behaviour, such as widespread and unsafe use of pyrotechnics, rushing turnstiles and forcing open fire exits, illegally gaining stadium access to display an unauthorised banner, and engaging in violent and intimidating behaviour towards stewards home and away.

As a result, the Green Brigade won’t be present at Celtic’s matches until the ban is lifted by the club.

Former Celtic midfielder Simon Donnelly expressed his hope that both parties could engage in productive discussions to resolve the situation. He emphasised that the Green Brigade plays a significant role in creating the atmosphere at Celtic Park, and when they are absent, it is evident in the lack of noise and atmosphere in the stadium.

He said on Clyde 1 SSB, “I think that would be the ideal, dare I say it, adult approach for them to talk it over. The Green Brigade bring that atmosphere to Celtic Park and it’s evident when there’s been problems in the past and they have decided to actively not go into the game, it’s evident they are not there. That lack of noise and atmosphere.

“I hope they can both sit down and resolve the situation very quickly and get the guys back into the games. There is no doubt they bring an atmosphere and the rest of the crowd feed off that.”
