Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph has this evening provided an update on Celtic’s pre-contract pursuit of Preston North End defender Ben Davies.
Despite Sky reporting that the deal was done, in terms of Davies joining in the summer, several other outlets had reported that the deal wasn’t quite over the line yet but Sky Sports man has said there is a reason for that.
Most likely because Celtic are now working to make the transfer immediate in this window still. Preston reluctant to sell this month. That doesn't affect the pre-contract agreement, though.

After agreeing on the pre-contract offer, Celtic are now supposedly working on a deal to bring Davies to Parkhead early rather than waiting till the summer window, this month.
It is thought that the English Championship side is reluctant to lose the 25-year old who has been a key man at the heart of their defence this season. Ultimately though, this doesn’t effect any of the details or agreements in the pre-contract deal between Davies and the club.
Many were suggesting that Sky had possibly gone to early with this story and there was in fact no agreement in place as of yet. If you are to believe Anthony though, it looks like there will be a few things to work on before making this official.
