Let’s be honest, there was very little commotion when Celtic’s newest signing, right-back, Hatem Abd Elhamed was announced only weeks ago. But the Israeli is starting to get fans to take notice in the best possible way, on the football pitch.

He might be only two games into his Celtic career but the defender is already starting to get fans to take note after two solid performances in the Hoops. The player made his SPFL debut on flag day to a sold-out Celtic Park. Celtic routed St. Johnstone 7-0 to start their defence as league champions.

His comments after last nights game will also help him become a fan favourite. Speaking with Celtic TV after Celtic’s 1-1 draw with CFR Cluj the player was full of praise for Paradise on flag day.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere, and it’s something I dreamt about,” he said. “I said before that this is a dream come true, and I enjoyed the experience on Saturday. Now I can’t wait to play at Celtic Park in the Champions League.”

Considering the player has not played any football for three months it adds to the contribution the player has already made at Celtic and should excite fans as to what is to come.
