Aberdeen is reportedly setting their sights on Celtic’s goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist as a potential target for the upcoming transfer window.

This interest emerges amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Aberdeen’s current number one, Kelle Roos, who is deliberating over his contract renewal after discussions with the newly appointed manager, Jimmy Thelin. [Daily Record]

Siegrist, who joined Celtic in 2022 under former manager Ange Postecoglou, has found opportunities hard to come by, making just two appearances in two seasons. Scott Bain is ahead of the former Dundee United man in the pecking order.

Despite the limited game time, the Swiss goalkeeper has evidently caught the attention of Aberdeen, who are considering him as a possible replacement should Roos decide to depart.

The likelihood of him having a second shot at the Celtic gloves was low, especially with Scott Bain ahead of him. Joe Hart’s retirement doesn’t look to change that, so Celtic could potentially be in the market for two goalkeepers in the summer.
