The SPFL claimed they’re looking to get football back in Scotland by the end of July after revealing the jumping-off point in their Tuesday afternoon statement.

The full statement covers the result of the EGM but now looks to the future and the possibility of getting back to business by late summer.

With UEFA deadlines looming and contracts about to expire, it’s likely the SPFL are targeting this as a plan to start NEXT season rather than continue the current season.

Murdo MacLennan writes: “Time is short. In reality, we must do everything humanly possible to get games back up and running by the end of July.”

The season hasn’t been called yet in Scotland’s top flight and will be interesting to see how long they will wait before coming to a decision.

Celtic have had their pitch renovated and have made plans for a possible return but it would be an optimistic person to believe games can go ahead.

There has been no football played since March, the best thing we can all do is get prepared for next season and hope we can get going as soon as possible.

Nothing can be taken for granted.
