RB Leipzig have sold out their stadium for the clubs next Champions League match against Celtic.

The Bundesliga side have been experiencing a lot of change at the club in recent weeks with boss Domenico Tedesco being relieved of his duties after a 4-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday one of the group.

This prompted Leipzig to appoint former RB Salzburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose.

Leipzig’s fortunes are yet to turn in the Champions League having suffered a defeat in the Santiago Bernabeu on matchday two but the German side did manage to hold out to eighty minutes in the game before conceding.

They had a great chance early on in the match and played fairly well but were ultimately punished by the present European champions late on in the game.

At the weekend, they were defeated 3-0 by Rose’s former side Gladbach to leave them in 12th place going into the international break.

There is quality throughout the Leipzig side but if Celtic are realistically wanting to challenge for the second spot in the group, these games are going to be crucial.

Celtic have previously visited this stadium four years ago in the Champions League and will be backed by a travelling support of just over 3,000.

Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that his teams good performances in the Champions League turn into results and this first clash between the two sides would definitely be a good game to do it in.

  1. 44,000 Leipzig fans versus 3,000 of ours, and you know who’ll make the most noise, it’s not really a fair contest; they should maybe have tried to balance things out a bit & allocated 46,000 to their own!

The players need to match the supports drive in this one
