Celtic has had a bid for Dylan Reid accepted and has opened talks with the young midfielder. The Parkhead club looks to be beating The Rangers to the player after they had a bid rejected.

A fee of £125,000 would be enough to bring the highly-rated player to the East End of Glasgow, with Celtic’s negotiations with the player looking to have a positive outcome.

Stephen Robinson has opened up on the speculation surrounding his young player, admitting he’d love to keep him in Paisley and give him the chance to develop at the club, as they are doing with other players.

The former Motherwell boss has admitted that Dylan has a big decision to make regarding his future. He said; [Sky Sports]

“Obviously we are a club which has to develop players and has to sell.

“Obviously, we believe Dylan is a highly rated young talent that we can develop here. We are a club which produces players, an academy system which does develop players.

“There are no fewer than six young kids training with us at the moment, Kieran Offord might get a game to start on Saturday.

“He came on and did brilliant, and there are other kids in and around that. For me, it is a very good club for young players to develop.

“Dylan and his advisers and his family have some decisions to make, but I don’t think he needs to look too much further than here to develop.”

Celtic’s Future

Ange Postecoglou has stated that he’s playing no part in bringing in players who will initially start in the B team, he trusts the coaching staff enough to identify the future of Celtic.

It’ll be a good signing for the player, but for Celtic, it could be hit or miss. The club has failed many youth players in the past.

Luca Connell is the most obvious, from playing regularly in the English Championship to being shipped off on loan to the lower leagues of Scottish football, with no chance in the Celtic first team.
