Young goalkeeper Ryan Mullen has joined Luca Connell this afternoon on going out on loan to League 2 side Queens Park.

In a quick double announcement, the Spiders complete the short term loan deal of not only the young Irishman but also Mullen ahead of their return to action.

With that announcement, Mullens joins both Connell and also Brody Paterson at Queens, who are heading towards the League 2 championship having currently not lost a game in the division so far.

At the start of the season, Mullen was originally one of the players set to go out on loan to Scottish League 1 side Cove Rangers working alongside former Celt Paul Hartley who is the manager there. However, the 19-year old picked up an injury which led to him being recalled early.

Many may have looked at these deals as a bit of a strange one but with the Championship loan window currently shut, Queens Park is arguably the best squad in the country at the minute. With some of the players at their disposal, it is certainly closer to a Championship level squad.
