CHRIS SUTTON has warned Tom Rogic his place is heavily under threat from Ryan Christie after the player has hot the ground running this season. Christie spent the last six games of last season injured and unable to helo the bhoys over the line for the treble treble.

However, he’s now hit the ground running in Celtic’s qualifiers for the Champions League and has already bagged three goals this season.

The midfielder burst onto the scene late last year and helped Celtic to a League Cup victory and deputised in Tom Rogic’s absence while he was away at the Asian Cup.

Now with a new season and new manager at the helm, it’s crazy to think a player with Tom’s ability could be dropped but that’s how well Ryan is playing.

Writing in his RecordSport Column, Chris believes Rogic’s mantle is there to be taken:

“Tom Rogic is someone I rate extremely highly.

“The Australian is a magician with the ball at his feet and it was no secret I was delighted when Celtic managed to get him on a new contract at the tail end of last season.

“However, if the truth is told there are warning signs flashing now for Rogic.

“And his mantle is in serious danger of being taken by Ryan Christie who is developing into the No.10 the club always hoped he’d be when he was signed by Ronny Deila.”

Once Rogic is back to full fitness it will be up to the Australian to show he can be just as effective.
