Some Celtic fans have been wondering why the communication from the club has gone silent over the past 72 hours after they announced they had offered Neil Lennon the full time job.

It was minutes after Celtic lifted the Scottish Cup that Peter Lawwell gave the OK for the Celtic website to announce he had been offered the job. A silly thing to do when you haven’t ironed out the details with the man himself and presumptuous Neil would just take whatever he’s given.

There are two reasons for the radio silence at the moment which gives further credence to the notion Celtic should have held off until they managed to secure their manager.

Reason one is that both Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell have left Glasgow to head out on Holiday the day after the cup final. The Irishman even spotted with ex-Celtic midfielder. Kris Commons yesterday evening.

The second reason is, the former Celtic captain has demands and one of them is personnel related. Not a specific player but his assistant coach who has followed him since his Celtic days – Garry Parker.

Neil wants a reunion with his former assistant at Parkhead and wants this in place for him signing his Celtic deal according to Record Sport.

Again, it just seems mental that Peter Lawwell announced this with NOTHING being ironed out with regards to Neil bringing in his own team AND what sort of budget Neil might get to improve upon his side.

  1. Let’s criticise lawell for getting a manager quickly after cup final, let’s criticise lawell for taking too long to get deal signed, let’s criticise lawell for everything he does no matter what. The man has guided us to unprecedented success playing wise and financially during 1 of worst financial rises since the 1920’s and yet he still gets pelters off of people for mostly small reasons. He’s not perfect but he’s best leader we’ve had, Fergus apart, and 1 of best leaders in world football.

    • Agree with you on this .he is a celtic man .when you read aston villa will receive over £130.000.000. Compared to what celtic get he is doing ok. He turned down chance to go to arsenal .yes some of criticism can be over the top

  2. All I, ve got to say is our club should be miles ahead of of our Glasgow neighbours yet we seem to be struggling in certain areas. Treble treble yes great but it’s now history it’s about tomorrow and time waits for no one. Lawell must commit now otherwise his detractors will. have been proved correct☘️☘️??????????????
