We know, we know, you’re sick of this and we need to move on!

However, we wouldn’t be doing our jobs right if we didn’t mention a snippet from Hampshirelive this week which makes claims about a certain goalkeeper who left us in the summer.

The media platform claims Fraser is one of seven players Southampton are looking to offload in January and there is an ‘interest’ from Celtic.

We have seen a number of media outlets now run with this story in the last 24 hours and basically repeat what Hampshire live have said verbatim; we don’t want to do that!

The theory is, Angus Gunn is doing so well on his loan spell at Stoke, the Southampton boss is now having second thoughts about who his number two should be with Fraser taking that position at present.

That’s all well and good, but the goalkeeper is locked in for the season at Stoke and will not return to the summer. Southampton would really need to be confident in their current third choice goalkeeper, Harry Lewis if they were to send Fraser on his way in January.

It might be financially prudent of Southampton to get Fraser off the books, but there’s nothing suggesting that will happen.

Celtic brought Vasilis Barkas in this summer and he’s yet to find his feet for the club, but it doesn’t mean he won’t. Scott Bain has been in goals for the last run of games before the international break and contrary to popular belief, has been average.

If a deal for Fraser came up in January, we’d be very surprised. It seems lazy by Hampshire live to throw something out there and have nothing to back it up, other than Celtic fans have recently spoken about a possible return on social media.
