A lot has been made about Bodo/Glimt star Sol Solbakken since he played a blinder against Celtic in the UEFA Conference League.

The winger was in fine form and helped dump Celtic out of the competition last season.

Since playing Celtic, there has been a clamour and a media push claiming the Hoops are interested in Sol. However, there has never been any conclusive proof or even solid source that’s claimed the club have seriously looked into bringing the player to Celtic Park.

What we know.

CeltsAreHere EXCLUSIVELY revealed back in February that Celtic were offered Solbakken at the start of last season when Ange had taken charge at the club.

The player’s agents telling us that they had put his name to Celtic but the club decided not to look into the transfer.

Beyond that, there is nothing to suggest Celtic have shown any interest in the player at all.

Yes, he’s been linked via the media but that’s easy to do without having to show real evidence.

From what we’ve gathered, the news that Celtic were offered the player back last summer and his performances against the club in Europe have combined to keep this transfer story going even though all signs point to the player heading to Roma.

Celtic fans have been keen on the idea of Solbakken coming in but if the Hoops can sign Jota to a permanent deal, there will not be many who are too bothered when he goes elsewhere.
