CELTIC should have a relatively quiet January all things considered with some fringe players going out on-loan to get game time.

The one stinger seems to be the potential call-back clause Southampton have in their deal for Fraser Forster. Back when it was reported the player was coming back to the club, STV man Raman Bardwaj made it clear Southampton installed the January clause before letting the player leave.

Forster has been a revelation since his return with his performances in Europe being a particular highlight. The doubleheader against Lazio gained the goalkeeper many admirers and left a lot of people wondering why he was ever languishing in the Southampton reserves.

With the St Mary’s side struggling, we either hope Raman was wildly misinformed or Southampton don’t see value in cutting Fraser’s deal short.

Celtic were in a similar situation last season with Filip Benkovic – Leicester had a call back clause but they left the Croatian at Celtic for the whole season.

Not going to lie, the thought of this clause hanging over us in January is making me lose sleep at night!
