Sky Sports pundit Anthony Joseph has set the record straight over murmurings that Celtic continue to sign players identified by Ange Postecoglou from the Asia market.

This comes off the back of the announcement from Gangwon that Celtic have secured the signing of winger Yang Hyun Jun.

Celtic were active in these markets since Ange was brought into the club. However, since Celtic’s initial foray into the market under Ange Postecoglou, they have set up their own strategy and are now well-versed in identifying targets in their global recruitment strategy.

Joseph wanted to set the record straight over why players continue coming in from the same places Ange was looking.

“Seeing a lot of comments regarding Celtic’s global recruitment search. These aren’t “Ange signings”. The journalist wrote on Twitter.

“Ange’s influence definitely guided Celtic towards these untapped markets. Celtic scouts/recruitment know them well now. They’re continuing to identify targets in these areas.”

Brendan Rodgers sat down with the club before agreeing to become the Celtic manager and was taken through the new recruitment policy and how it works. The Irishman made it known in his first interview back, which Celtsarehere attended, that he was delighted to see how outward-looking strategy.

He also has the final say on who comes in, and if he didn’t want Odin Holm, Marco Tilio and now Yang Hyun Jun, he would have made his objections known. These players are coming in with Brendan’s approval.
