‘They have to go’, ‘Move them out’ – Former Celtic Star Reads Riot Act

Former Celtic midfielder Paul Lambert has insisted that nothing would convince him to take the Celtic job whilst also hitting out at players for their form this season.

As quoted by the Daily Record, when asked on Go Radio if he would be interested in returning to Glasgow if considered for the job, he ruled himself out for the second time within a matter of days, saying he wouldn’t want to ruin the relationship between himself and the support after his eight-year spell as a player.

“No, I had eight great years there and success there. I wouldn’t want to ruin that relationship I have with the Celtic supporters.

“Glasgow was my life a long time ago and I’ve moved on. As I said I had eight great years there, hard times and some incredible good moments.

“I think that side of it is not for me. Whoever gets it has got to know that the club needs to win and you’ve got to have success. If you don’t have success there… if you finish second you’re last. I think that’s the easy way to sum it up.

“Some of the guys, if they don’t want to be there then they have to go. You have to move them out. I watched the game against Ross County the other week and they never turned up. They never laid a glove on them. That’s not Celtic.

“Some of them looked as if they didn’t want to be there and that was the big thing for me. If that’s the case you have to move them out.”

As much as Lambert may be asked if he would consider taking the job, the vast majority if not all fans would be left majorly disappointed if he was to be appointed the next manager.

He is just off the back of leaving League 1 Ipswich, who have spent the last few seasons in English League 1.

Appointing former players and club legends is what has found us in this mess we currently find ourselves in and have a lot of work to do to fix now.

He makes some good points, in regards to the players who simply haven’t been good enough this season when it comes to their performances on the field. However, we shouldn’t be looking to ruin another players legacy at this club, especially one who probably shouldn’t even be in the running for the job at this stage.

  1. No matter who comes into the Hot seat at Paradise, will be monitored closely by the support. When they arrive in a sea of rosebuds, they better start their career by ring some bells above certain player heads. And if this falls to get their full attention, then stick the fuc&ing bell on their heads and hit their heads off a wall. The ungrateful lazy cunts. Playtime is finished, back into lessons.
