Three Celtic Fixtures Moved in Surprise TV Shake-Up

Celtic have had three upcoming Premiership fixtures rescheduled as part of the latest round of televised picks, with changes affecting dates and kick-off times across November and December.

The first adjustment sees the Hoops’ trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United moved significantly. Originally pencilled in for the weekend of the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals, the league match will now be played a month later on Wednesday, December 17. Kick-off has been confirmed for 8pm, and the game will be shown live under the lights in Dundee.

Before that, Celtic’s visit to Easter Road to take on Hibernian has also been brought forward. Brendan Rodgers’ men will now make the journey to Edinburgh for a Saturday midday start on December 1, again to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Perhaps the most unusual of the changes is the home fixture against St Mirren, which has been handed an 8pm kick-off on Saturday, November 22. Originally down for a traditional 3pm start, the late evening slot marks a rare scheduling choice for a Saturday in Scottish football. That match, too, will be televised live.

The changes mean that Celtic will now face two night-time kick-offs inside a month, both of which land on midweek or weekend evenings, a development likely to impact both matchday travel and atmosphere for supporters heading to Celtic Park or on the road.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to manage the slight disruption to rhythm and preparation these adjustments bring, particularly as the games fall during a critical run of fixtures leading into the festive period.

While the scheduling shuffle may not please everyone, it does ensure extended live coverage of Celtic across the winter months, with Sky Sports continuing to prioritise the champions’ involvement as the title race unfolds.
