Celtic are looking to replace Carl Starfelt with yet another Swedish central defender in Gustaf Lagerbielke. The 23-year-old plies his trade for Elfsborg in the Allsvenskan although soon will be a bhoy.

One of the foremost talents in Swedish football, Lagerbielke received many plaudits from those in his homeland when initial speculation about his move to Glasgow came about. A fee of £3m has been agreed for his transfer and the Sweden international’s medical has been pencilled in.

We knew this previously but a timeline over it has now been given. According to the journalist who initially broke the story on Twitter, Anel Avdic, Lagerbielke will travel to Glasgow next week for medicals:

Put two and two together and one would imagine that if all goes swimmingly, a deal will be done by this time next Sunday and Brendan Rodgers will soon have his Starfelt replacement.
