Celtic drew 1-1 with Motherwell as part of the final round of pre split fixtures in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.

The Bhoys weren’t up to their usual high standard but remain on course to comfortably win the title nonetheless.

Who the Bhoys win the league against, however, remains to be seen and the final top six placings have given the SPFL a post-split fixture dilemma regarding Celtic.

The confirmed teams to be in the top half of the table for the final five games as well as the Hoops are Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and St. Mirren.

This combination of teams means the SPFL will have a contentious decision to make over what fixtures to hand Celtic.

It is guaranteed the Bhoys will head to Ibrox and with Postecoglou’s men having travelled to Paisley twice already this campaign, they will likely play St. Mirren at home post-split.

The three teams that are left, though, (Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs) Celtic have only played each once away.

This means they would be due to face four away games after the split if the fixtures against teams were to balance out over the course of the campaign although this is probable not to happen.

As a result, Celtic will have to play one of Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen three times at home this campaign.
