Anthony Stokes has been sacked from another club who also want to further action against him for not turning up to do his job.

He only signed on with the Iranian side, Persepolis very recently but has already had his contract torn up.

The striker is also in the dock this week for breaching a court order.

Persepolis are irate are the way Stokes has handled the whole situation after revisiting substantial money from the club to sign.

Persepolis managing director Mohammad Hassan Ansarifard Told SunSport.: “We wanted Stokes to return to Iran so we could go through the disciplinary process in the correct manner for his breaches of contract.

“However, following his court case, he will no longer be a Persepolis player. We don’t want him to return, but we do intend to report him to FIFA

“We have to do this to protect the club.

“He has also received a substantial salary from us and has not fulfilled his contract, therefore we will be seeking compensation from him.”

Stokes played his best football at Celtic and enjoyed a decent spell with the Hoops. Since Neil Lennon released the player when they were both at Hibs, Stokes has gone from club to club and not lasting very long.

The lad is obviously troubled. It’s too easy to judge in these situations, we hope Anthony can get help and resume his playing career. He could still have five or six years in the game if he screws the head.
