UEFA have announced the officials for Celtic’s trip to Lazio on Thursday will be a German team headed up by whistler Tobias Stieler.

The Bundesliga grade ref will be flanked by his two linesman and fourth official; Mike Pickel, Christian Gittelmann and Harm Osmers.

We like to highlight who officiates Celtic matches before a game to give you some insight into who will be in charge of proceedings.

Looking at Tobias record so far this term the referee isn’t scared to get his yellow card out.

The German ref has given out 31 yellow cards this season so far averaging 3.44 yellow cards per game but has only brandished one red card thus far.

Celtic go to Rome in hope more than expectation knowing the Italian’s are looking for a measure of revenge on the Scottish Champions. It’s up to Neil Lennon’s side to weather the storm and hopefully we get a bit more luck with the referee this away day after Celtic being denied a stonewall penalty against Rennes.
