UEFA have now put into effect how much clubs can charge an away support for a ticket to a Champions League or Europa League.

The rule means clubs will no longer be able to gauge an away support beyond belief in an attempt to stop fans being priced out of the game.

The Liverpool Echo has confirmed from the group stage, the most a club can charge away fans is:

  • 70€ Champions League.
  • 40€ Europa League.

Clubs can sell tickets for below this price but they can’t stray above it.

Celtic fans have three away days in the Europa and now know they will have to shell out a maximum of €120 for match day briefs.

Following your team abroad is an expensive exercise and any way of curbing expenditure for fans should be welcomed.

Celtic will be off to Italy, France and Romania in their Euro adventure which will take them to the end of the 2019 football calendar.
