Celtic women got their SWPL season underway on Sunday – beating Aberdeen 4-2 away from home.

Fran Alonso and his new look team are going to take time to settle after a summer of upheaval. The club have brought in players from all around the globe and have lost some pivotal players who took the league to the final day of last season.

Charlie Wellings, Cheyenne Shorts, Liv Chance and Maria Olafsdottir Gros all made their SWPL debut from the starting XI.

Wellings and Celtic stalwart Chloe Craig got two goals each on the day.

Celtic surprised many last season by coming second and pushing Glasgow City all the way – qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

Unfortunately, the ghirls didn’t manage to progress in the UEFA competition but the experience will be invaluable this season.

The game on Sunday had a lot of positives – the team will not be happy they’ve conceded two goals but banging in four will be pleasing.

Celtic have posted the unique angles of Celtic’s goals.
