In what was a frenetic start to the game, Celtic took the lead against Lille but sure as night follows day, the French side equalised but a penalty won by Jeremie Frimpong put Celtic back in the lead.

The kudos go to David Turnbull for the first goal – he gave Celtic fans something they’ve not seen in quite some time; a well-delivered corner. The pace and accuracy on the ball meant Christopher Jullien only had to help the ball on its way to put the ball in the back of the net.

A mistake by Callum McGregor was punished by Lille minutes later to make it 1-1.

It would be 2-1 shortly after the Lille equaliser when Callum McGregor dispatched the ball from the spot and pumped his fist as he made up for his earlier mistake.

The energy in the Celtic team is there for all to see. The guys out playing for their place in the team are really having a go. It’s good to see.
