I bet you when he was playing for St Mirren, Lewis Morgan couldn’t have envisioned a scenario where he would be played in by Real Madrid and Juventus man Gonzalo Higuain to score, but football is a funny old game, as our editor points out below.

Lewis signed for Celtic and was loaned back out to St Mirren. He then had a spell at Sunderland where he played well and was unlucky not to help the club to promotion.

The midfielder wouldn’t really hit the heights in Glasgow but he did famously start as a lone striker for the Hoops during the League Cup final against our Glasgow rivals.

It was THAT Cup Final where Fraser Forster single-handedly won Celtic the trophy with one of the best goalkeeping displays you’re ever likely to see.

Despite starting in such an important game, Inter Miami would come calling less than a month after that cup final and the player moves Stateside to join the new found club.

He now plays alongside Higuain and they’re linking up to good effect!
