SCOTT ARFIELD is a man who had to go seek international football in Canada because he couldn’t get a game for Scotland, he not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
So, when he clearly doesn’t know the rules of the game he’s playing, you have to give him a break.
During Celtic’s 4-0 rout of their Glasgow rivals, Scott was in the box as Joe Hart looked to build from the back from a goal kick. Joe’s pass finds Scott because he’s in the box.
The ball needs to leave the box or an outfield player must touch it before the opposition players can attempt to win the ball.
Arfield doesn’t know that when he strikes the ball and hits it well over the bar, he’s then told in no uncertain terms by Joe Hart that what he did wasn’t on. The referee Nick Walsh pulls the play back and lets Joe retake his kick.
Listen to Rangers TV raging because the rules have been applied. Apparently, Celtic get too much protection…
You’d expect pro players and those commentating on the game to at least know the basics, like IFAB Law 16 in this instance! …amateurs!
Tom Miller is box office, when exactly did celtic get protected, what’s the goalie doin Tom 🤣🤣
