Celtic won 3-2 over Rangers on Saturday as Ange Postecoglou and his players moved 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Kyogo and Jota were on the scoresheet for the Hoops in the victory and as well as being able to see their goals from a unique angle, in the derby episode of Matchday Paradise on Celtic’s YouTube channel, we got a unique insight into part of Celtic’s pre match buildup.

The Hoops part take in numerous drills on the pitch before kick off and in one particular instance where the Bhoys were stretching, we were able to hear captain Callum McGregor dishing out hugely encouraging motivation and advice to his teammates:

“We understand the pressure, we understand the game, we stay calm, you’ve got to be able to be clear, understand the pressures, understand when the press is coming.

“As soon as we beat that press, we accelerate the attack.”

You can watch the moment McGregor said this around 1 minute into this clip:

We know that Celtic, especially under Ange, will constantly look to play out from the back and surpass any press from the opposition.

The Hoops themselves also look to coax their opponents into mistakes and this was certainly the case at the weekend as a few Gers errors led to Hoops goals.

Nevertheless, what we heard from Callum McGregor was greatly intriguing. He is undoubtedly a tremendous role model as a captain and someone every player in the Celtic dressing room will look up to.

This short clip is just a snippet of how McGregor leads and sets the standards for his teammates yet it is hugely fascinating for fans and gives a rare insight into what is said between the players prior to a colossal match such as Saturday’s.
