Updates have been given on a number of injured Celtic stars by manager Ange Postecoglou.

Reo Hatate, who came off against Hibs in the final game prior to the most recent international break clutching what appeared to be his hamstring, missed Saturday’s Glasgow derby.

And now, it also appears he could also be out for this weekend’s trip to Kilmarnock. Postecoglou said (The Scottish Sun):

“It’s fair to say Reo won’t make next week. But he won’t be out long term. It’s just as case of making sure he’s ready to go.”

Despite his lack of availability for this weekend, the fact Hatate will be back in the coming weeks is hugely positive.

Many will be hoping he returns for the Scottish cup semi final on April 30th.

Moving on, Anthony Ralston and Liel Abada are still out for a couple of weeks. Benjamin Siegrist, though, has been pictured back in training recently and was out on the pitch with the squad on Saturday despite not being named on the bench.

Postecoglou also gave an update on the status of James Forrest:

“The ones who are definitely out, James Forrest is still a fair bit off.”

Although Celtic still have a number of players on the sidelines, their squad is deep enough and has sufficient quality in order to cover these gaps and ensure they do not affect results on the park.

They certainly didn’t at the weekend as the Bhoys put Rangers to the sword in a 3-2 victory.

  1. No way u play a player coming back from a muscle injury in artificial pitch I hope it rains on Sunday cause no way Kilmarnock will water before and at halftime as the makers of this material tell owners to water well for best playing condition I just hope our players come through it without injuries
