Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate has given the Hoops the lead against St Mirren.

An Alistair Johnston pass along the edge of the box found Hatate, who took one touch to control the ball, then sensationally rifled it past Zach Hemming in the St Mirren goal to put Celtic 1-0 up 52 minutes into the game.

Hatate has certainly been missed for large spells of the season, with his goals and creativity, in particular, bringing a new dimension to the Celtic midfield that was simply lacking in his absence from the side.

Hatate’s goal may very well prove vital at the end of the season, with Celtic, for large spells, struggling to create clear chances in the game.

But the Japanese international left no doubt with his incredible strike on an important afternoon, with the opportunity to go four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
