LAZIO Star Joaquin Correa has told the media he and his team didn’t deserve to lose at Celtic Park two weeks ago and they will be going all out to exact revenge on their Group E opponents.

Lazio took the lead in Glasgow and looked to be heading for three points when a Ryan Christie equaliser stunned the away side. A string of important saves from Fraser Forster gave Celtic the opportunity to go for the winner and in the 87th minute, Christopher Jullien was left free in the box to head it into the back of the net. Celtic Park went nuts!

There would be one more moment of magic when Lazio were denied at the death by a miraculous save from Forster who had no right to stop the fizzing volley.

Lazio did play well on the night but Celtic boxed clever to gain the three points.

It’s going to be difficult in Rome for the Celtic team and they know they must give 110% to get anything out of the tie. Lazio players seem up for it if Correa’s comments are anything to go by.

“We have been playing really well for a few weeks now and this was just the latest big win for us.”

“Even when we lost, like in Glasgow against Celtic, we actually played really well. We didn’t deserve to lose, but we have a chance to make up for it this week.

“Football can be like that sometimes where you are playing well and you still go away with nothing. But if we keep playing like that, we will win far more than we lose.”

Celtic are currently top of the group on seven points from their first three games.
