Celtic signed Matt O’Riley in January, and since then, it’s fair to say he’s exceeded expectations.

As Celtic began their preparations for the upcoming season, the Dane has picked up where he left off. In his two games, he’s scored twice, and both goals came from superb strikes.

He’s showing his talent in a Celtic shirt, and the £1.5 million Celtic signed him for now looks like an incredible bargain.

Still just 21, the Dane will only get better throughout this season. It’s also his first pre-season with Ange, which will allow the manager to mould him into the midfielder he wants in his system.

Tom Rogic’s Successor

Matt O’Riley is the replacement for Tom Rogic, but by no means is he a downgrade. In fact, he’s an upgrade to the Aussie Celtic Icon, which isn’t a criticism of the departed midfielder. The Danish under-21 international has bags of potential and could quickly be pulling on a jersey for a top side. Hopefully, he stays at Celtic for a few years, though!

Matt could be special for Celtic this season, and fans are desperate for the campaign to commence so they can see him at his very best.
