Ibrox midfielder Nicolas Raskin believes his team is good enough to stop Celtic from winning the title this season despite the very poor start.

Celtic are seven points clear of both St Mirren and The Rangers as we sit in the October International break.

Instead of getting his head down and focusing on his own game, Raskin, like many of his predecessors appears to find comfort in talking rather than doing.

The 22-year-old midfielder told PLZ Soccer: “Are we good enough? Of course we’re good enough. [To win the SPFL Title]

“We’ve got like six or seven players out injured, so it’s been a hard time.

“But now people are going to come back soon hopefully. We have to look forward and work hard. We’re still early in the season and we have to do our job on the park.”

There is nobody at Celtic declaring the title is over, absolutely not. Celtic players keep their thoughts to themselves, even when they’re winning.

It’s widely accepted Celtic have not been at their best this season so far. They have had their own injury problems as well as rejigging their style of play with Brendan Rodgers taking over from Ange Postecoglou.

We saw a much better version of Celtic on Saturday against Kilmarnock as things began to click. While the Hoops have not hit the heights yet, they hold a commanding lead in the title race already.

Naturally, Brendan Rodgers and his team will only get stronger as the season goes on.

Raskin does himself and his team no favours by making comments in public while they sit managerless, seven points behind having also failed to qualify for the Champions League.
