With the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, many Celtic fans have been wondering what would happen if the club was drawn a team from the country.
After some uncertainty if Shakhtar Donetsk would compete in this year’s competition, they declared they would be participating, and the country’s league would start again.
It’s too dangerous for an opposition team to travel to Ukraine and play a match there, despite league matches taking place in the country. Therefore, Shakhtar will play their Champions League matches in Poland at Legia Warsaw’s stadium.
Shakhtar Donetsk will play their #UCL group matches at Legia Warsaw’s stadium this season.
Stadion Wojska Polskiego lease signed.
Shakhtar fans & Legia season ticket holders can buy tickets – 5% of sales going to the Legia Foundation, which has been helping people in Ukraine.

Celtic’s Champions League Opponents
Celtic can draw the Ukrainian side. The Scottish champions are in pot 4, while Shakhtar Donetsk will be in pot 3.
With Celtic in pot 4, the three other teams that will make up the group should be of a higher quality than Celtic, but that won’t be the case. Ange will set up his team to attack the opposition and earn some great results.
