Ange Postecoglou is in the frame to become the next Celtic manager. A name that’s come from nowhere over the past 24 hours since Eddie Howe dramatically told Celtic he wouldn’t be taking the post after all.

Celtic fans are rightly anger after three months without a boss we seem to be back at square one with very few options.

Ange Postecoglou is name we’ve not been aware of and a man who has made his name away from European football.

Celtic fans in Australia have had mostly good things to say about the prospective new manager but back in 2016, Tom Rogic actually compared the intensity of Postecoglou to Brendan Rodgers and the crossover between club and international football suited him at the time.

Quoted by RecordSport who found these comments from back in 2016, Rogic claimed the pair were a little bit similar:

“It’s almost a bit of a similar feel as I see the managers being a little bit similar in ways — both quite positive and both quite intense to work under.

“The way it crosses over, it’s good for me to have that similar mindset going into both. The environment’s good, the team’s good; when you’re playing, you’re happy and, when you’re winning games, it’s all good.”

We must stress, no manager is a done deal and Celtic telling us they were in advanced talks with another candidate is clearly them trying to save some face.
