It seems like it’s open season on Leigh Griffiths at the moment.

The player took the ‘brave’ decision to step down from his international duties to get into better shape for his club during the international break.

This has been hailed by his captain Scott Brown and members of the Scotland squad have come out in support of the wee man’s decision.

However, Chris Sutton yesterday had a go at Leigh for not turning up to the Scotland camp, when the Englishman was the one spearheading the idea the striker was unfit in the first place.

We now have another former Celtic man having a pop today by saying Leigh has made an a*** of things and the Celtic star should have taken the high road with McLeish.

“The wee man couldn’t have made a bigger a**e of this if he’d tried.” Provan wrote in his SunSport column.

“If he’d handled things differently, he’d have the sympathy vote in his pocket after being shafted by Eck.

“By asking Griff to do a Mo Farah shift against Belgium, then bombing him for the Albania game, McLeish hung the striker out to dry.

“But what should have been a storm in a teacup turned gale-force when the Celtic striker pulled out of the squad for Israel.”

Leigh will unlikely lose any sleep over the comments but we have very few people pointing the finger at the failing Scotland boss here. He can’t control his players, he can’t get results and he stands on the touchline a football dinosaur standing in the way of progress.

There’s only one man who has made an arse of things, and it isn’t Leigh Griffiths.

  1. Couldn’t agree more, the only a**e is the EBT recipient that is playing at being the Scotland manager. Get him to f*ck the clown. And as far as Provan is concerned he’s another ar*e, he turns my gut just listening to him commentating on our games. For someone who was well looked after by the club when he had health problems you would think he would be more supportive of Celtic and their players. Hail Hail.

  2. Hear Hear Jim.Provan has been as good an ambassador to Celtic as Nicholas,Burley,Walker and now Commons, none of them hardly ever have a good word to write/say about Celtic. At least we only hear Provan’s co/comments now and again,Walkers however,we hear far too often with his jump on Celtic at every opportunity, then his over hype up Sevco, with every bit of good play is turned into “sensational play by Rangers” in his commentary, makes my blood boil.Sutton,i’m sorry to say is becoming another SMSM tool in thier stop Celtics run to 10IAR at all costs, with his negative comments on Celtic now out weighing his positive ones, with Sevco strangely given an easy ride by Suttons usual standards.Griffiths should now do a
Kris Boyd who refused to play under G.Burley,(the hypocrite who had the nerve to slag Griff too)and refuse to play while McLeish is in the Scotland hot seat, won’t be much longer anyway.
Thank fu*k for J.Hartson on BT Sports,P.Bonnar on BBC radion Scotlands Sportsound along with A.McAnally
on Sky Sports who have our backs, butn don’t soft soap their comments when criticism is deserved.
Biggest surprise during this over blown out of proportion;storm in a tea cup,was the support of Griffiths by no other than Steven Nasmith, the on field thug,we all like to hate, the jumped up little jambo wrote quite a lengthy and detailed piece in support of Griff,so credit where it’s due,so well done Naisy, you put some of our ex Celtic heroes to shame, but we still hate you,and you’re still a little currant bun cu*t.

  3. Those Ex-Celtic Players Who criticise our players and our manager then put what they say for all to see, They once played for our great club in the Green & White Hoops, Running Out the tunnel onto the hallowed turf in front of the supporters that stood by them and chanted their names from the terraces, When their careers had finished they become critics for the media, Then criticise players that play for the club that once were their bread and butter, C. Nicholas, D. Provan, M. McCloud, A. Walker & C. Sutton (etc etc) They should take a good look at themselves in a mirror and say I was a Celtic Player, I Pulled The Green & White Hoops On, I ran out that tunnel onto the hallowed turf in front of the best supporters in the world and say that I was Proud & Privileged, They should be saying and writing positive things, They should be giving our new bhoys positive vibes and helping them instead what do they do write everything that sends negative vibes, Not Only to our club as a whole, But to our new bhoys, All That gives them is negative vibes which could and probably give them negative attitudes and could possibly affect their future of being professional footballers and playing for our famous Glasgow Celtic, Please do not try and tell me that this is rubbish, Of course it’s not and it has happened in the past, When We should be helping and assisting our younger and senior players, Positive vibes sends and gives positive attitudes, Ex Players now reporting for the media, Remember the whole club supported you and the Celtic Family sang and chanted your names when you played in The Famous Green & White Hoops On The Hallowed Turf In Paradise, In Front Of those best Supporters in the world, Yes everyone has opinions on this and on that, But when it is aimed at our club and our players every Time you see and read your comments 24/7 It Is repetitive same old Shite, Get a grip guys if you have nothing positive to say about our club our Manager our players, Just stay away and write about what is going on in other countries around the world and report about Torture and Persecution !!!
