Speculation is par for the course in football but we couldn’t believe what one publication decided to run with today when talking about Celtic and their current loan bhoy Fraser Forster.
IF true then Celtic haven’t got a chance of hanging onto the goalkeeper past this season.
Football Insider seem to think there are people at Southampton who value Fraser Forster at £20m and will try and get that for the player at the end of his Celtic loan deal.
They write: Southampton are confident Fraser Forster’s value will rocket to more than £20million by the end of his season at Celtic, Football Insider understands.
This site has been regularly wrong about what they ‘understand’ and we’d question where exactly they’re getting their information from.
Celtic have offered Forster the chance to come play first team football and restore some pride after being thrown on the scrap heap at Southampton.
The player has come up big in the past few months and has regained his confidence. If Southampton do try and hold out for this much then good luck to them.
However, there were more concrete reports Celtic and Southampton have a deal in place for the goalkeeper if all parties fancy it next summer.
