Former Ibrox manager Alex McLeish believes the wheels will already be set in motion to find Celtic striker Albian Ajeti a way out of the club.

Ajeti has only started this season when he’s been the club’s only option in attack. Kyogo is Celtic’s main striker and Giakoumakis is the number two.

Ajeti is further down the pecking order and couldn’t even make the bench during the Dundee tie. Given we are awaiting more players to come back from injury, and there’s going to be incoming transfers in January, it’s going to get even hard for Albian to make the first team matchday squad.

It’s likely better for the Swiss frontman to move on in January if there’s enough interest.

Alex McLeish believes there will be conversations with agents already.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Ibrox and Scotland boss said:

“He won’t be happy with that. Ajeti is one of those players who will expect to be in the squads at the very least.

“I suspect there will be agents working in the background trying to get him a move.

“Any player worth their salt, if they aren’t playing they will be looking to find a move.

“So it wouldn’t surprise me if that one happens.”

The player hasn’t cut it at the club. We thought we had our much needed poacher when the player was signed from West Ham under Neil Lennon. He’s never really got going. The player got among the goals earlier this season but was offering very little in games.

He’s not the type of player Ange Postecoglou needs in his squad and if we can get some money back for the player, we would be doing well.
