Former Ibrox player Alan Hutton has unexpectedly lavished praise on Celtic loan star Fraser Forster after the Southampton player made a return to Celtic last month.

Hutton is a free agent after being released by Aston Villa in the summer and is now trying to attract attention by taking media interviews.

The former Spurs defender made it clear Fraser Forster was a big acquisition for Celtic and he expects the goalkeeper to do well during his loan spell.

“A player that’s coming and knowing everything about the club – this is what I’m talking about,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“He knows everything – he’s played in O** F*** games, he knows about European nights and stuff and what the fans are like.

“I expect him to really be dominant, to be honest with you. He was an amazing keeper for them in previous years, he’s went down south and obviously decided he needs more game time and come back up to somewhere he knows.

“I really expect him to do well.”

This won’t go down well with some of the Ibrox support who still see the player as a fan-favourite from when he played for the pre-liquidation Rangers.

Hutton is correct in what he says. Fraser is a giant in goals for Celtic and coming back he seems to have even more presence in goals.

The goalkeeper played his 200th game for Celtic against Hamilton and bagged his 101th clean sheet in the process.
