CELTIC went crashing out to Midtjylland on Wednesday night after initially taking the lead against the home side.

Ange Postecoglou’s side squandered a great chance to go two goals up in the tie and about 30 seconds later the equaliser came.

It was an energy zapping night for the team who are running on fumes.

The boards failure to prepare for this game since January onwards has been our undoing.

So many Celtic fans resigned themselves to the Hoops going out against the Danish side because of the lack of investment early on in pre-season.

The bhoys who were put onto the pitch did their best – our backline was very young and inexperienced.

Anthony Ralston is our only recognised right-back at the moment and has taken a lot of flak for being in the team.

However last night, while his talent is limited he put in a performance worthy of praise from the Celtic support.

The defender was up and down the field, blocking and crossing, trying to make things happen and ran himself into the ground. For a guy who’s not had much first team football at all, he can hold his head up high.

These fans and many more agree.

  1. Shame the support are often critical of players . ralston always tries is best but not always good enough. Eduard is a hero yet lacks effort and is on is way out a great talent but poor attitude. Give me a 100% tryer every day of the week. For goodness sake Celtic sign a goalkeeper Barkas is the reason we are out of Champions League with the goal conceded in first leg. Should have been 2-1 Celtic at end of 2 90 minute games.

  2. You’re surely not suggesting its all down to one mistake by Barkas?
He wasnt on the pitch last night for the 120 minutes-take a look at the line up, defence in particular.
Is that the defence of a Champions League team?
Great goal apart, McGregor anonymous and Turnbull not doing enough for his place.
We had nothing up front, Griffiths & Ajeti no longer options and Edouard a pale shadow of the player he was 18months ago.

  3. We need to sign a couple of game changing players. The money from Edouard, Frimpong and Ajer needs to be reinvested. If we do so we’ll win the league, if we don’t we risk handing a club their 2nd ever title, both of which as undeserving as each other.

  4. The team is a shambles and its down to p.lawwell were is D.Mckay hiding as usual i wouldn’t keep any of that team they haven’t got the bottle to play for the hoops and as for the league well i know were its going if that board dont get better players in now.
