ANGE POSTECOGLOU was in no mood for evocative terms or giving the BBC a headline with their line of questioning after Celtic’s Champions League defeat.

The manager had to face the press after the disappointing result in Denmark where a very patched up side fell very short in extra time against Midtjylland.

Most Celtic fans are not blaming the new Celtic boss for this exit, and are clever enough to know the rot was set in a long time ago which set up this defeat.

The manager faced the music tonight on behalf of the club, but he was defiant in the terminology used by a BBC reporter to try and get a scoop.

The manager was asked to comment on the ‘catastrophic’ defeat and he wouldn’t play ball. As much as Ange knows this is a hammer blow, he is also wise enough to understand that Celtic are going through a process and he’s the man leading the charge.

Nothing is over and things need to get moving. He was then asked who’s to blame and he took the responsibility – not pointing the finger at anybody.

  1. It is completely the boards fault for not appointing a manager quick enough and for not supporting him either. One look at the bench meant extra time was going to be a difficult and what proved to be our downfall. Taking Soro and Turnbull off meant Game Over. How Rogic is still part of our set up amazes me. We need energy and bringing him on resulted in us being overran. The ipredictable was inevitable!

    • Yes Rod I can’t entirely disagree with you. However there has been a lot of criticism aimed at the board who are ultimately responsible for the club’s interests. I guess a lot of venting. We can’t keep sticking the knife in constantly. I’m sure they are trying to do the right thing now. What happened in the past is history and we now need to support our club and not succumb to cheap attacks. We all know what you mean and it does hurt.

The appointment of the Dominic McKay seems to me a breath of fresh air.
as an eg. The fact that he granted interviews of himself and Ange to the podcast media was fantastic. How refreshing is that! I see a man in touch with today’s football fraternity, their wants and needs. Give it time.

We now need patience for the club to develop. In the current climate of the Kung Flu pandemic we have no choice.

Go Celtic you good thing. Can’t wait to see you kick some serious back side. It’s coming! I can feel it!

  2. BBC, fooey. Always looking for a cheap headline. But I must say it’s not just them. Why else have fan podcasts come to the ascendancy? Because of cheap reporting, not focusing on facts, that’s why. People can see through the rubbish.

I know Ange quite well having seen him work in the past. He is straight forward and to the point as well as an honourable man. You can see this by how players he’s coached in the past revere him. (It should be quite apparent by now). This sits quite well with the Scottish psyche or anyones else’s. Ange’s style is, follow or get out of the way.

All I have to say is, “you’ll see”.
