We’re still two months away from the January window opening. The club had a massive overhaul in the summer but work isn’t done yet.

Celtic need transfer strategy going forward; being proactive instead of reactive is essential.

Right now, we only have reports and rumours to go on but it does appear the club are active in trying to find recruits.

The Times has claimed Ange Postecoglou is set to go back to his old side to sign another Japanese star.

According to the paper, Celtic are looking to sign Daizen Maeda from Yokohama Marino’s. The frontman has scored 18 goals so far this term, has incredible work rate and knows where the back of the net is.

His main position is second striker, meaning if he did come in, Daizen could play just behind Kyogo.

The player is only 24 and could fit well into Celtic’s model. Ange has made it clear he would like to back into the Japanese market to enhance his Celtic side and this looks Lome an example of it.

If the manager is looking to bring in a striker, it could spell the end for Albian Ajeti at the club. The Swiss striker has a run of games earlier this season but didn’t impress as well as he could have.
