Ange Postecoglou has been known for some pretty good one liners in his time as Celtic boss so far. This is up there with them after he branded a BBC journalist a ‘downer’ for asking a question about how he’d prefer to clinch the title.

Celtic have all but confirmed their status as Champions of Scotland. Dropped points by The Rangers on Sunday or a point away to Dundee Utd on Wednesday will be enough to confirm it.

The BBC reporter Kenny Macintyre asked Ange’s preference on the way he’d like to clinch the league.

His response was golden, and we think he has Kenny’s card marked because it doesn’t take much for Ange to give him a bit of stick.

Live on BBC Radio Scotland, Ange replied [14:20]: “Only you could make winning a championship feel like a downer. No, mate, any way it comes, thank you.”

Exactly Ange, we know we’re champions in waiting and if it comes on Sunday, great! If it comes on a Wednesday, great.

Celtic were down and out at one point with many claiming Ange could have been gone by Christmas. Well, he’s here and he’s about to become a title winning manager. Remarkable considering where we were.
