ANGE POSTECOGLOU revealed he believes the fans are still very much with him and the team despite the defeat at the weekend against Livingston.

The Hoops have had a mixed start to the season but three away defeats out of three has people concerned about our away form going forward.

The manager was asked if he was feeling any pressure or the tide turning on the initial support he had from the Celtic support.

Ange was honest as always and made it clear the fans have been nothing but supportive of him and what he’s trying to do at Celtic.

The Celtic FC Boss did admit Sunday would be a source of major disappointment for the fans because of the lack of any sort of cohesive performance. The Australian doesn’t want to get caught up in what’s going on outside and instead make sure they’re doing the right things within the club to bring success over the next period of time.

“I’m not on social media, I’m not a great reader of what’s going on around the place but the general feeling is our supporters are totally understanding of the situation we’re in. They’ve been very supportive, from day one and I haven’t sensed a shift in that.” Ange told Celtic FC Youtube.

“I think Sunday’s game was probably the most disappointed they’ve been in our performance but I haven’t felt the supporters are thinking this is going to be a quick fix.

“For us, what’s really important is what we do internally here, we can’t get caught up in what outside timelines are or what expectations are from various people, who obviously when things aren’t going well they’re going to critique what we do.

“We’ve got to stand up to that, face that and accept that’s part of the process. Internally, what I’m trying to steer us to, we’ve started on the road to be a certain type of football team and we won’t waiver from that.

“We have confidence in the group here and what we’re trying to achieve, all these things that kind of happen along the way, just further challenges our commitment to it.”

Celtic fans always appreciate the honesty Ange brings to the table. Some managers are eager to put a brave face on or try and quell concern with cliches. The Aussie is straight to the point and still has immense confidence in himself to deliver success.

We have to be patient, we need to remember where we were last season and how far we need to come in order to be successful once again.

  1. I think the majority of The Faithful are behind Big Ange, but he must be fully aware this is a results dependant business.
As per, we’re hamstrung with injuries early doors, the lack of depth letting us down yet again, so hopefully we’ll get stronger as the season progresses.
